Jordan Wine Farm, located just 25 minutes from Cape Town International Airport and 10 minutes from Stellenbosch, is a working wine estate with a rich history dating back over 300 years; renowned for producing world-class wines since 1993, Jordan has become one of the leading estates in South Africa with a focus on creating unique wines that marry the best of the New and Old Worlds, offering stunning panoramic views of Table Mountain, False Bay, and Stellenbosch from its hillside vineyards, as well as fine dining at its flagship Jordan Restaurant, the Cellar Door, and luxurious accommodations for overnight stays.
Gary and Kathy Jordan have been producing exceptional wines since 1993 on a farm with a rich history spanning over 300 years. In 1982, Gary’s parents, Ted and Sheelagh, purchased the Stellenbosch property, which now covers an impressive 164 hectares. They undertook a comprehensive replanting project, specializing in classic grape varieties suited to the various soils and slopes.
The Jordan hillside vineyards offer breathtaking panoramic views of Table Mountain, False Bay, and Stellenbosch. Gary and Kathy gained valuable international experience for two years before returning home to construct a cellar in 1992.
The following year, the Jordan vines were deemed ready for producing wines bearing the Jordan name. From the very first year, it was evident that a new star had emerged in the world of winemaking. The team has since grown, with a focus on creating wines that are distinctively individual, combining the accessible fruitiness of the New World with the classic elegance of the Old World. Their continued success is a testament to their dedication and hard work.

Wine tasting
At Jordan Wine Farm, you can personalize your wine tasting experience with the Terroir Tasting, which offers a selection of wines of your choice ranging from R20 to R100 per person. The Reserve Tasting presents the ultimate expression of the Jordan terroir with a tasting of premium wines including the Cap Classique Blanc de Blancs, Nine Yards Chardonnay, Cobblers Hill Bordeaux Blend, and Sophia, served in specially selected Riedel glasses at R295 per person.

Restaurants
Jordan Wine Estate boasts two contemporary dining locations: The Jordan Restaurant and High Timber.
The Jordan restaurant is where Chef George Jardine showcases his modern cuisine in a renovated tobacco curing house surrounded by vineyards and overlooking a picturesque lake.
High Timber is restaurant named after a famous street in London, that has been serving fine cuisine since 2009. The restaurant is a collaboration between Gary and Kathy Jordan, of Jordan Wine Estate fame, and Neleen Strauss, who has been in the restaurant industry since 2001. With a seating capacity of 70, the restaurant also features two private dining rooms, one of which is situated in the red wine cellar, while the other is adjacent to the red and white wine cellars, showcasing a collection of over 20,000 carefully selected bottles. The menu offers modern, ethical dishes with a South African flair, including homemade biltong, biltong croquettes, and rooibos tea-smoked salmon. The menu also features locally sourced fish, top-quality vegetarian produce, and English red meat.
The Bakery
The Bakery at Jordan has been transformed into The Cellar Door, featuring a casual all-day menu sourced with fresh, seasonal ingredients by Chef Thys Esterhuysen. This new concept combines award-winning Jordan wines at cellar door prices with exciting wine tasting experiences, available seven days a week. Guests can enjoy a variety of options, including daily dishes, flammkuchen, and shareable platters.
Luxury Accommodation
The luxury suites are beautifully appointed with modern finishes and furnishings. They are situated on a peaceful working farm, surrounded by vineyards and mountains. Each suite is equipped with a HD LED TV featuring DSTV satellite channels, air conditioning, a Nespresso coffee machine stocked with a selection of pods, tea-making facilities, a mini-bar fridge that can be pre-stocked upon request, spring water, and a complimentary bottle of Jordan wine, which is best enjoyed on the covered terrace.

Picnics at Jordan wine farm
Jordan Wine Estate’s private picnic pods are located on the lawn and offer stunning views of the Stellenbosch Kloof Valley and Mountains. These pods can accommodate 2-8 adults and come equipped with a picnic basket full of delicious treats from The Cellar Door at Jordan. One basket is sufficient for two people. Picnics can be picked up starting at 12:30 on the day of the reservation, and guests will have access to their private pod until 16:00.
